iPadpalooza is a three-day event held at Westlake High School in Austin, TX.  This learning festival is a celebration of the cultural-shift the iPads have brought about in education and the world.  This event will focus on creativity, social collaboration, engagement and the compelling ways schools have integrated iPads into their classrooms.  This year we will also premiere our “iLead Academy” which will take place on June 17th (8:30-4:00) and is focused on helping campus and district leadership thrive in a mobile learning environment.

The festival will start on the evening of June 17th at 6:30pm (registration opens at 4:00pm) and end on June 19th and will feature amazing speakers from all over the world, lots of live music and of course, food trailers. Please note there will be limited seating to this event and the iLead Academy.

Students have been authoring books in the classroom for years, but now it's time to transform those yarn, spiral and staple bound books into multi touch, interactive books that can be enjoyed from any device! Using the Book Creator app for iPad, your resistant writers will become motivated to not only write more, but more creatively while meeting the Common Core Writing Standards!

In this session, participants will learn how to integrate technology into teaching the writing process by seeing examples of student created books across many subject areas. Participants will explore the Book Creator App and learn to create eBooks (ePubs) with imported photos, videos, music and even recorded speech for narration. There are many ways to share the eBooks publicly or with parents, and participants will learn how to utilize platforms such as iTunes or class websites for publishing.
