iPadpalooza is a three-day event held at Westlake High School in Austin, TX.  This learning festival is a celebration of the cultural-shift the iPads have brought about in education and the world.  This event will focus on creativity, social collaboration, engagement and the compelling ways schools have integrated iPads into their classrooms.  This year we will also premiere our “iLead Academy” which will take place on June 17th (8:30-4:00) and is focused on helping campus and district leadership thrive in a mobile learning environment.

The festival will start on the evening of June 17th at 6:30pm (registration opens at 4:00pm) and end on June 19th and will feature amazing speakers from all over the world, lots of live music and of course, food trailers. Please note there will be limited seating to this event and the iLead Academy.

iPadpalooza…It’s not a conference, it’s a learning festival!

For the past decade, Interactive Notebooks have been lauded as an important tool to help students remember and synthesize information in the classroom. Interactive notebooks have been linked to better achievement and longer lasting connections as they appeal to several of Gardner's "intelligences" all at once. However, as more research and work is being done digitally, the effectiveness of these notebooks is being lost.
That is where Evernote comes in! Evernote can be used to create, capture and assess all of student learning, regardless of its original source!
Students can use this app to type their notes, annotate primary source documents or label photographs.
It also allows students to capture authentic learning - whether a poster, a video, webpages or pages from a textbook and store it in one location for later reference.
And finally, students can use Evernote to recall and reference their learning during assessments such as Socratic Seminars to facilitate evidence-based conversations that truly push critically thinking.
Evernote truly is the 21st Century "Interactive Notebook"
