iPadpalooza 2014 has ended

iPadpalooza is a three-day event held at Westlake High School in Austin, TX.  This learning festival is a celebration of the cultural-shift the iPads have brought about in education and the world.  This event will focus on creativity, social collaboration, engagement and the compelling ways schools have integrated iPads into their classrooms.  This year we will also premiere our “iLead Academy” which will take place on June 17th (8:30-4:00) and is focused on helping campus and district leadership thrive in a mobile learning environment.

The festival will start on the evening of June 17th at 6:30pm (registration opens at 4:00pm) and end on June 19th and will feature amazing speakers from all over the world, lots of live music and of course, food trailers. Please note there will be limited seating to this event and the iLead Academy.

On June 17th, iPadpalooza will host the iLead Academy.  This is exclusive event is a workshop focused on school and district leaders tackling mobile learning initiatives. The event will be limited to 150 attendees and feature some renown speakers and panelists from across the globe, including our featured Keynote speaker. The registration for this event is seperate from iPadpalooza.

During this first session of iLead, Tim Lauer will kick off with an opening TED-style talk on the value of social media and communication in schools with mobile device initiatives.  He'll then moderate a panel on communication from educators from around the globe and lead an activity designed to increase communication and social media presence in schools.

During this second session of iLead, Tom Daccord will speak on the importance of critical thinking and design of professional learning in schools with mobile device initiatives.  He'll then moderate a panel on professional learning from educators from around the globe and lead an activity centered around a more engaging, "challenge-based" system of professional learning.

During this closing activity of iLead Academy, school and district leaders will develop a manifest of sorts to use as a takeaway going forward.  Whether in the early planning stages of a mobile device initiative or in the middle of one, all have a lot to gain through shared knowledge.  The goal of this closing activity is to tap that shared knowledge and galvanize it into a useful function going forward.
