iPadpalooza 2014 has ended

iPadpalooza is a three-day event held at Westlake High School in Austin, TX.  This learning festival is a celebration of the cultural-shift the iPads have brought about in education and the world.  This event will focus on creativity, social collaboration, engagement and the compelling ways schools have integrated iPads into their classrooms.  This year we will also premiere our “iLead Academy” which will take place on June 17th (8:30-4:00) and is focused on helping campus and district leadership thrive in a mobile learning environment.

The festival will start on the evening of June 17th at 6:30pm (registration opens at 4:00pm) and end on June 19th and will feature amazing speakers from all over the world, lots of live music and of course, food trailers. Please note there will be limited seating to this event and the iLead Academy.

iPadpalooza…It’s not a conference, it’s a learning festival!

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Zoology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1989. My first career was as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Merck, Sharpe, and Dohme. I also worked for several years as a research scientist for Quidel and AAI. In 1992, I obtained a teaching credential (K-8) from National University in San Diego, CA. I taught in the Carlsbad Unified School District and at a private school for aspiring child actors before taking time off to start a family. I started teaching at Forest Trail Elementary in 2006, and spent the majority of my time as a 5th grade teacher. In the Fall of 2012, I transitioned to the Gifted and Talented Specialist position for grades K-5. I earned my Masters in Elementary Education from Texas State University in 2013. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, traveling, reading, geocaching (treasure hunting), and thinking creatively. My mission is to positively empower all learners to discover and develop their individual gifts and talents.
