iPadpalooza 2014 has ended

iPadpalooza is a three-day event held at Westlake High School in Austin, TX.  This learning festival is a celebration of the cultural-shift the iPads have brought about in education and the world.  This event will focus on creativity, social collaboration, engagement and the compelling ways schools have integrated iPads into their classrooms.  This year we will also premiere our “iLead Academy” which will take place on June 17th (8:30-4:00) and is focused on helping campus and district leadership thrive in a mobile learning environment.

The festival will start on the evening of June 17th at 6:30pm (registration opens at 4:00pm) and end on June 19th and will feature amazing speakers from all over the world, lots of live music and of course, food trailers. Please note there will be limited seating to this event and the iLead Academy.

iPadpalooza…It’s not a conference, it’s a learning festival!

Leanna Immel & Kelly Galante are both 3rd grade teachers at Montclaire Elementary School, located in the Cupertino Union School District. In addition to teaching in the classroom, both Leanna & Kelly have worked in conjunction with their district as lead teachers for Language Arts and Technology, resulting in Teacher-of-the-Year awards for the 2010 & 2012 school years. Over the past 3 years, they have had the opportunity to integrate mobile devices into their respective classrooms, which include iPads and MacBooks, and are now working in a 2:1 student to device ratio (the lowest ratio in their district). Most recently they traveled to the Mobile 2013 Conference in Tucson, Arizona to collaborate with other technology teachers and specialists. Their work this year has focused on 21 Century Learning, including piloting flexible furniture, adapting practices to CCSS and how to use technology as a tool to deepen student knowledge, enhance assessments and communication with parents.
